On procuring your "Driver Authorization" for Taxi Services issued by Queensland Transport our Support Staff will provide further on the job training including information about the vehicle, technology inside and other important drivers safety issues.

To qualify for driver authorization, you must have:

1. Held your drivers licence for the last 3 years without a cancellation or suspension.

2. Complete the driver training course held at Black and White Cabs, phone 3860 1825 for a booking.

3. Pass a medical and english literature test. Black and White will arrange this.

New drivers to the Maxi Cabs will be given a full days on the job training with an accredited driver/operator focusing on the areas unique to the features of that vehicle, and disabled customers before going solo.

Delta has a drivers insurance scheme that indemnifies drivers for “at fault” accidents. The scheme also incorporates personal accident insurance and public liability insurance to the limit of the policy terms, should a driver be injured whilst driving his/her taxi or travelling to or from the point of the start of their shift. Drivers pay a fee per shift for the benefit.

In Brisbane the taxi industry operates 24/7. Taxis are double shifted, and most changeovers occur at 4am and 4pm.
